Back to the old grind...

Hello all! I have been enjoying my long weekend with the husband, the boys, and family! We had a great time at the lake on Saturday. Noah actually loved the water. I am so glad he starts swimming lessons on Monday! He is getting over that fear...to my dismay!

Sunday I was lazy and didn't go to church! Not really, I must have slept funny or something, my neck hurt bad! So I stayed home. I know, not a good excuse. We went to my aunt's house for some good food and hung out with the cousins who were in town.

Monday I didn't really do much, went to a couple of stores with my dad and mom. I actually found some Wiggles DVD's. CHEAP! I bought them. I figure in a few years I'll be able to sell them if nothing else. They will be classics with Greg! Andrew was working late so I went to my Mom's and cooked dinner while they went and loaded my dad's truck for today. I made Italian chicken, butter potatoes, carrots, broccoli, and bread. It was pretty good, if I do say so myself!

Today I had intended on cleaning...of course not much got done. Noah did help me clean the living room. And I washed quite a few loads of laundry. I made deviled eggs and a chocolate bread pudding. We ate at my Granny's as we usually do every Tuesday. We had barbecue and man was it good! Potato salad and baked beans. I have been a cooking kick lately. Which Andrew is very glad of! I am going to make pork chops tomorrow before church. Hopefully the kids will be good and I can get done in time! Gwen and Lili will be back tomorrow. I have kind of missed them!

I totally forgot to take my camera with me to the lake so I have NO pictures. I'm a little ticked at myself! I charged the battery and everything and forgot to get it! Oh well! I just have to get some of the pictures that Mom took.

Have a great day, until I see you again!

Where have I been...

It has been a while since I have updated this old blog. I really don't have an excuse...just being lazy! And I have been dealing with a bit of a stomach bug with the boys and me. I didn't have the girls today and I won't have them again until Wed! Yes! Not that I mind them being here, but it is nice to have some time with just my boys!

Andrew was off today so we took Noah to play Putt-Putt. He loves it. It was a little rainy so we only played one game. Then my awesome mom kept the boys for Andrew and I to have a "date-night." We got to go out to eat without with eating chicken nuggets and telling someone to sit down the whole meal! We were going to go to a movie but decided to rent a few movies and go to Wal-Mart to get things for tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, we are going to the lake to celebrate Memorial Day with the family. My cousins are coming from out of town so we are getting together. Should be a fun day!

Have a great weekend!

This is what happens when you watch 4 kids a day...

So...I called the nurse on call tonight to ask about Noah's fever. Jonah had felt a little warm so I was talking to the nurse and she asked me what his temperature was. I told her I would have to take it to let her know. She asked me "how was I taking it" and I said "Oh, I'm fine." She laughed and said she needed that laugh! She meant how was I taking his temperature!

Our weekend

We had Jonah's first birthday party on Saturday night. It was fun with family and a few friends. He was such a cute boy actually blowing out his candle when we sang Happy Birthday. I will put pictures on when I have time to download them to the computer. Probably later tonight. Noah had a fever and was laying around and sleeping all day. So I have a feeling that it will be a late night. He is fine now, so I have no idea what was wrong with him. Just a fever and he complained of a headache. But he is sitting on the couch wanting fish sticks now so I guess he is okay!

Yesterday we had dinner after church at my mom's house. I was going to go to church but we had a rough night here with the boys. One or the other was up just about all night long. So I slept a little late and then went to my mom's to make baked mac and cheese. It was another fun day with family. Andrew worked but he and Noah went shopping last Tuesday and got me cards, hot rollers, and a foot spa. Nice! Of course Noah couldn't keep it a secret! He is too cute! He said they got some things to put circles in my hair. I love that boy!

Jonah's 1st Birthday!

Has it really been a year already? I can't believe how fast it went by. I was so happy when I found out I was pregnant with who would become Jonah. It was very emotional since after having the stroke I didn't really know if I would be able to have more children. Andrew and I always wanted more than one. At least 3 if not 4, but I don't really know how many C-sections I can handle! I was trilled that I didn't have any problems! I didn't even have morning sickness. When we found out we were having another boy, at first I was bummed! I really wanted a little girl! But looking back I know that God knew that we needed another boy at the time! They were going to have to share a room after all! And thankfully I had saved all of Noah's clothes so we were blessed there too. And the fact that they are only a month apart...I really think God knows what He is doing! At the risk of being too sentimental here is a letter to Jonah:

Dear Jonah,

I am so blessed to be your mom. I admit until the day you were born I wasn't sure that I could love two children. That is until I saw you! Your were so perfect, all 9 lbs. 4 oz. of you. I immediately fell in love with you. I always thought how could you divide your love, but someone told me you don't divide it, it multiplies. How right they were!

You have always been good. You pretty much slept though the night from the day we brought you home from the hospital. You grew up way to quickly! I was excited to get to be a stay at home mom with you and you were crawling by the time you were 5 months old! You starting drinking out of a sippy cup when you were 6 months old. You started walking at 9 months! You have done everything so fast and now you are running! You are my little monkey and have NO fear! I do love how you will come and take my hand when you want to go outside. It is the sweetest thing! I really hope that that is how you will continue to be. Taking the world by storm! Having no fear, and going for what you want in life!

I love you and you have truly been a blessing to our family. My favorite parts of the day are when you wake up for the day, happy and with a big hug for Mommy! And of course at night when you want that last cuddle before you get in your bed. The sweetest moments are the simplest ones. I am so happy to enjoy each and every day with you! Happy 1st birthday to my cuddle bunny!

Some random stuff...

I had a few days off last week due to one of the girls having a stomach virus. I, of course, didn't get anything done! I was so lazy! I really intended to clean up but other stuff, like playing with the boys takes a higher order in my book. We had a lot of fun outside. We have had some great weather here. Right now it is 82 and sunny! When Jonah wakes up from his nap we are going to get Noah. He spent the night with Pa and Ma. That little booger didn't want to come home last night after Gramma's party. It was good though because I ended up having some stomach aches and going to the bathroom all night. I know, too much information!

We are going to look for items for Jonah's 1st birthday party next Saturday. I cannot believe that it is here already! His birthday is Thursday. I just can't believe he will be 1! I know I said that already but it is so true! And what really gets to me is that in a little over a month Noah will be 4! Where does time go!? I am really glad that he didn't get into Pre-K now! He wants a baseball party so I will be working on that for the next few weeks. He LOVES baseball! If he doesn't grow up to be a professional ball player I don't know what he will do!

In some sad news...Chloe in now gone. She is going to be living with my Gramma and aunt in Florida. I hope she does okay there. I really can't give her all the attention that she needs. She used to be my baby, but since Noah and Jonah have come along she has had to take a back seat. I know it will be good for both of them. Gramma is alone most of the day so it will give her a companion. I do miss her. I almost changed my mind, but seeing how happy Gramma was...I couldn't do that to her. I love you Chloe and know you have been a wonderful pet to me for 9 years! Okay, now I am sitting here crying! I know she will be okay and I can always go visit her! That will be another good excuse to go to Florida!

I've got to get off her and get on the road. I won't have much time to shop with the girls next here next week so I've got to try to get done today, and maybe some last minute stuff on Tuesday when I don't have the girls. Have a good day!

Motherhood

5 minutes for mom is having a photo contest for Mother's day! They are giving away $1000.00 and the photo is to be a photo of Motherhood!

This is my entry.

It is picture of my mom with my son Jonah. I love the way they are looking at each other! You can just see the love between the two of them. I love my mom for what she has taught me through they years, even when I didn't want to learn! I love you Mom and appreciate all that you have done for me and my children. We all love you very much!

UPDATE: I think I may have been too late in posting this to win the contest, but I still love this picture!
